I have a severe mathematics habit. There is no known cure. My collaborator is a Silver Persian cat, shown at left in his library. He lets me borrow his books on occasion. Otherwise, I do whatever he says. Reading while feeding his highness--by hand--is not permitted. The cat carefully monitors compliance and punishes transgressions, deploying claws in stages, as needed. He wastes no energy or meows--although there are many. He rises before dawn as a rebuke to the slumbering earthworms and birds--and to the rest of mother nature. His schedule is unforgiving: a polyphasic sleep cycle begins again with a snooze at 10AM. As a heroic and legendary predator and early warning alarm, the sound of a vacuum cleaner sends him running under the bed. He would prefer if I played with him between 1 to 3 AM. He once woke me up to alert me to the intense fire in the building across the courtyard. There was no mistaking the sense of urgency in his voice.

As for Solitaire, there seems to be no mathematical theory of this game. Here's a link: http://www.maa.org/mathland/mathtrek_7_5_99.html. That was written in 1999. Since 2005, the situation seems not to have changed. In Searching Solitaire in Real Time, Ronald Bjarnason, Prasad Tadepalli and Alan Fern write, "Klondike Solitaire has become an almost ubiquitous computer application, available to hundreds of millions of users worldwide on all major operating systems, yet theoreticians have struggled with this game, referring to the inability to calculate the odds of winning a randomly dealt game as 'one of the embarrassments of applied mathematics' (Yan et al., 2005)." That was for Klondike draw 3, but I imagine the same holds for the draw one version of the game here.
